Dr. Verónica Obregón is a mental health expert with 20 years of mental health experience. She is a licensed clinical social worker with a PPS credential authorizing social work in schools. She earned her MSW from the USC School of Social Work and a Doctorate Degree of Education with an Educational Psychology concentration from the USC Rossier School of Education. She began her career as a psychotherapist at the L.A. County Department of Mental Health and then moved on to practice as a psychiatric social worker at the Los Angeles Unified School District's-School Mental Health Program. She worked with teen moms to help them stay in school, provided mental health consultation with school administrators, teachers & staff about student mental health and socio-emotional needs, provided crisis intervention, individual psychotherapy and worked with parent engagement initiatives to increase academic achievement.
She was born in Mexico City and raised in East Los Angeles. Growing up in this community inspired Dr. Obregón to work for a just and well-organized society. She is an adjunct faculty at the California State University Los Angeles School of Social Work where she teaches for the undergraduate and graduate program.
